As we serve low to moderate income families in Washington, DC, we find that we are need of various items to enhance seasonal programs and assist families in emergency situations.  Please check below for opportunities to serve children and families in our city or donate online.

Emergency Needs:

  • Safeway and Giant gift cards ($10, $20, $30, $50)

  • Gift cards to department stores - such as Target, Payless, Hecht’s

  • American Express Gift Cards ($25 - $50) for small emergency needs.

  • Restaurant gift certificates – to treat the families to an afternoon out.

  • Fast food dollars – i.e McDonald's, KFC, Subway and others for one-time meal vouchers.

Professional & Career Building Needs:

  • Gift certificates to hair salons - for women preparing for job interviews

  • Metro Passes and Bus Tokens – to get to and from interviews, training, school, or for youth mentoring / job shadowing.

Children’s Items for Seasonal Programs:

  • Donations of nutritious snacks - fruit cups, chewy granola bars, crackers, juice boxes, etc

  • New Toys (Unisex for ages 0-3, 4-7, 8-10, 11-14)

 *New toy donations are accepted during the month of November for our Holiday Christmas Parties (all ages) and during month of August and April for Operation Explosion (OP-X) (8-14 only)
